Your Journey begins with a decision...
I am ready to stop being hurt
This is where the journey begins.
It does not start with mastery, nor with strength, but with a single choice to change.

Safeguarding against emotional harm
Pain can feel like a cycle, repeating itself in different forms, keeping us bound to the past. But the moment you step forward, you break that cycle. It takes courage to move beyond suffering, to reclaim control, and to discover that strength is not just physical—it is the willingness to transform.
My own understanding of this comes from personal experience.
The concept of Empty Cup was born from my own personal journey. I had faced the pain of bullying during my school years and later endured an abusive relationship in my early early twenties.
I remember vividly the moment I realised that I could not continue living in the same cycle. The pain, the fear, the doubt, that many people feel.
One day, during another attempt to leave the relationship, I was torn between two emotions; my love for my girlfriend and the intense pain of separation, and the immense relief of being free from the emotional turmoil and drama.
These emotions seemed evenly matched.
However, I sensed that for the first time, the relief outweighed the pain by the smallest degree, a literal iota.
And that iota, that tiniest of margins, gave me the space to make a new choice.
That moment, I knew I had finally made the decision that I was ready to stop being hurt.
That decision was the first step.
And now, with an empty cup, open and ready to be filled, the journey truly began.
If this moment speaks to you, then you already know—it’s time to begin.
Every journey begins with a choice.
The choice to stop being hurt. The choice to take control. The choice to grow. This is your moment.
Empty Cup Martial Art is your path. Are you ready? The journey begins now.

Reflective Questionnaire
In order to help you assess your readiness and mindset before starting your journey in Empty Cup Martial Arts, we are asking you to fill in a reflective questionnaire.
This isn’t just about learning techniques—it’s about personal growth, discipline, and embracing challenges.
By taking time to reflect on these questions, you’ll gain a clearer understanding of your motivations, your ability to persevere, and the commitment required for long-term practice. Martial arts is not a quick fix; it’s a journey that requires patience, humility, and a willingness to step outside your comfort zone.
This questionnaire helps you recognize potential obstacles, cultivate resilience, and approach training with the right mindset. It ensures that you’re pursuing this path for yourself—out of genuine interest and dedication—rather than external expectations.
Ultimately, this reflection lays the foundation for meaningful progress, helping you grow not just as a martial artist, but as an individual.
Take the time to answer thoughtfully, and let it guide you toward the journey ahead.
